New World Order Revisited

I keep a piece of paper taped to my desk lamp that says "PRAY FIRST". Sometimes an issue or story will light a fire under me, and I just have to talk about it, so I corner my husband on his way to get a cup of coffee, or I call an unsuspecting friend and let 'em have it. If everyone is hiding, I sit down and write an email to fifty of my closest friends. I confess, this is one of the reasons for this Weblog. The other reason is that God told me to start it, but that’s a story for another day.

Back to the handwritten note, PRAY FIRST. Much of what you and I hear in the news and on social media these days is really, really scary. Add another "really" if you want to. It's scary because it looks as if our country, the world, our values, the family, and even truth and justice, are getting blown apart by forces more powerful than we knew, ideas more destructive than we expected, and evil most of us never saw coming. I can't handle this. So I'm learning to PRAY FIRST before facing whatever issue is on the plate. I trust God’s sovereignty and His power. I know He loves me, and will take care of me. Praying – a two-way enterprise – reorients and settles my thinking, and allows me to listen to God’s perspective on the issues.

Today I read Psalm 43.

1 Vindicate me, my God, and plead my cause against an unfaithful nation. Rescue me from those who are deceitful and wicked. 2 You are God my stronghold. Why have you rejected me? Why must I go about mourning, oppressed by the enemy? 3 Send me your light and your faithful care, let them lead me; let them bring me to your holy mountain, to the place where you dwell. 4 Then I will go to the altar of God, to God, my joy and my delight. I will praise you with the lyre, O God, my God.

5 Why, my soul, are you downcast? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God.

Okay, here’s the latest “fire”. Remember the talk about the “New World Order” that went around in conspiracy-theory circles in the ‘80s and ‘90s? Governments and national currencies would make way for a single system, and the world would be run by, essentially, the antichrist. Well, this was monster-under-the-bed material for many. The formation of the European Union was seen as a first step towards this utopian global "unity". Fast forward to 2021, and they’re back at it. In fact, the World Economic Forum’s “Great Reset”, as it’s called, has been in the works since the turn of the century, merely a continuation of the ideals of the New World Order.

On March 31, radio host Glenn Beck’s guest discussed what’s happening, and it’s beyond conspiracy theory now, since it’s openly supported by our top leaders. I still think this is a nightmare scenario, in which governments and corporations get pressured to support a “woke” agenda, with trillions of dollars available to those who meet “ESG” Standards. The ESG metric measures entities based on Environmental, Social, and Governmental standards, all of which are politically correct in the most ridiculous way imaginable. (Listen to Beck’s March 31 podcast on Blaze Media for details.) The whole Great Reset effort is well underway, and the Biden fast track Left agenda dovetails with it, apparently as planned. That seems to be vindication for 1980's conspiracy theorists.

Most of us have been unaware of what’s happening, and it may be a fait accompli before we know what hit us. So it's time to get aware. Awake to woke, so to speak. For the cabal that gets to run the show (The Bank of America CEO is a big player, as are other international corporate and government bigwigs), the great reset means power, control, and money. For the rest of us, regardless of race, this capitalism-killing mindset will essentially make it impossible to build wealth and maintain personal freedoms. In this system, companies no longer would have to compete for customers. They would just have to cave in to the pressure to be environmentally, politically, and socially left-wing, and then they get rewarded with the government contracts, the construction permits, etc. Regular people are left with artificially high prices, poor quality goods and services, and fewer resources for private enterprise, if any. Individuals become dependent on government programs and huge “acceptable” corporations for every necessity. And those are just the economic consequences. You can bet religious freedom is a target, too. This is Communism, pure and simple. By the way, the power players in this plan (who meet every year in Switzerland to decide how they’ll run the world), are pushing hard for a worldwide vaccination passport. Control for the unelected autocrats, loss of freedom for you.

Needless to say, this scenario looks bleak in the extreme. And don’t we feel powerless? Let’s get our perspective straight on this. We are not powerless, or hopeless. Spiritually speaking, Satan has been working on the idea of one world government since the beginning. A system based on power and wealth for the few, that inflicts slavery and despair on the majority, is right up his dark alley. Greed, Selfishness, and oppression have been endemic in our world since "who flung the chunk".

Psalm 43 acknowledges the trials we may face in our world, which is the devil’s playground because of sin. In the face of these realities, our job is to put on the full armor God provides, and to stand firm against our enemy. For you, standing firm might mean going to a school board meeting and speaking up against anti-American or anti-Christian curriculum, or calling your local state representative to voice your concerns about vaccine passports. Standing firm might just mean letting your friends know about the "Great Reset", and praying together for protection and spiritual revival. We can be confident that God is our champion, and our job is to stand firm for what’s true, to serve Jesus by serving those around us, to pray for our enemies, to encourage our friends, and to saturate ourselves in God’s Word.

Ephesians 6: 10 – 18 says,

“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.”
